September 8th represents a big moment for the world today. Countries, NGO`s, Civil society organizations, religious and learning institutions come in a unified voice to demand on action from all leaders. Reason? We must all commit to end fossil fuels dependent economies and invest in clean renewable energy systems.
Time has come, and now is, that the youth in Africa and indeed world over must lead in chatting the new world agenda.
In Kenya, youths have come together to speak up and be actively engaged in climate talks & walks. Together, we say that coal is no option for us in the quest for a diverse energy mix in the country. Therefore, we have to show leadership by going green in the energy sector.
Evidently, fossil fuels contribute significantly to climate disasters, which is why we have to leave them underground where they belong and rather invest in renewables.
For these reasons, we the youth in Kenya join the world for #RiseforClimate
